Answer

Using Discover & Go:

You must be a Hayward resident to use Discover & Go through our library; if you're not, please contact the library in your city for information about getting a library card there. Here are the instructions for searching by date for Hayward residents:

1. Go to https://hayward-ca.discoverandgo.net/

2. On the lower left-hand side of the screen, enter your library card number and your PIN. Your PIN is the last four digits of your phone number.

3. The available attractions are listed by date. If you're looking for somewhere you can go today, just scroll down the list until you find somewhere you'd like to go.

4. If you're looking for somewhere you can visit on another day, find today's date on the left side of the screen and click on it. This will open a pop-up window with a calendar in it. Click on the date you are interested in going somewhere. That will take you to a list of attractions that are available on *that* day. Scroll down the list until you find somewhere you'd like to go.

5. If you're looking for a particular attraction and you don't have a specific date in mind, that's a separate set of instructions; I'll write those below.

6. Once you've found the attraction you're interested on the date you want to go there, click on the green box that says "Reserve."

7. A window will pop up saying "Reserve Pass." It gives information about what kind of pass is available and what the rules are for using it, and confirms the date of the pass. Read all of this carefully. If this is definitely the pass you want, click on "Continue." If not, click on "Cancel" and return to Step 3.

8. If you clicked on "Continue," another window will pop up saying "My Reservations." This will explain the terms of your reservation and give the address of the venue. If you are definitely sure you want this reservation, click "print/download." If not, click "cancel reservation."

9. Clicking on "print/download" will give you another popup box with instructions for printing and downloading. Some venues require a printed pass, others will accept a downloaded pass image on your phone. Generally you want a printed pass.

10. Bring the printed pass and a photo ID matching the name on the library card you used to get your pass to the venue. These passes will *not* be valid without a matching photo ID.

3. The available attractions are listed by date. To browse by attraction instead, click on "All Attractions" on the left-hand side of the page next to the date. This will give you a list of all attractions in alphabetical order. Scroll down until you find the attraction you're interested in.

4. Once you've found the attraction you're interested in, click on "Show first available offer." This will take you to a screen showing the first date a pass will be available. If you want to go on that date, click on the green "Reserve" button and skip to number 6 below.

5. If you want a different date, click on "Reserve different date." This will open a pop-up window with a little calendar showing which dates are currently available. Pick one of those by clicking on it.

6. A window will pop up saying "Reserve Pass." It gives information about what kind of pass is available and what the rules are for using it, and confirms the date of the pass. Read all of this carefully. If this is definitely the pass you want, click on "Continue." If not, click on "Cancel" and return to Step 3.
